Peltor H7A Optime 101 Over-the-Head Earmuff

The Peltor Optime 101 earmuff is recommended for very high noise level environments. Safe, comfortable and economical for all day protection. Note, this is the over the head model.
Customer Review: These work great with or without earbuds
Hi. I have a couple of Peltor Optimes: these 101's and also a pair of 105's. (I thought I'd lost the 105's so I got these, and even though the 105's reappeared I like these somewhat better.) I didn't get these because I shoot guns on a rifle range. I got them because I ride the New York subway every day. These give me peace, quiet, serenity and bliss. And, when I combine these with a pair of earbuds (I really like the Bose Triports) and an MP3 player, I get music I can actually hear (unlike all the other people on the train, who try to compensate for the train's noise by turning their music up really loud - poor things! They still can't hear the music and they're ruining their hearing). Even on a fast moving train I can hear not only the quiet violin parts of a Vivaldi concerto, but also the ECHO of the violin notes. Fantastic. You can pay $300 for a pair of noise cancelling headphones that will sorely tempt every petty thief who sees you, or you can get these, and be left alone by everyone. 'Nuff said. I like both the 101 and 105's. The 101's are slightly lighter and slightly more comfortable. They might let in a little more ambient sound, but when you're walking down a New York street you probably want a little of that anyway. I think the 101's (these earmuffs) look a little cooler becuase of the dark color (it's actually a very dark olive green, not black). The 105's have red trim that makes these already dorky looking headphones look even dorkier. I realize these make me look like a mega-nerd (although some people seem to think I'm wearing industrial sized DJ headphones, which I guess they think is cool). Well, I AM a mega-nerd, so I don't really care what people think, but if you do, you might not want these. If what you care about is actually being able to hear your music, and not having your ears ruined by howling subway trains, then these are great, with or without earbuds. Added bonus: you no longer have to be annoyed by other people's insipid conversations. For that alone, these are more than worth the money. Protect your ears. Have some peace and quiet. Be able to actually hear your music. These earmuffs are a good idea. PS I have a very fat head and these fit OK. If you have a normal head they will probably be quite comfortable. I feel a tiny bit squeezed by them, but I still think it's worth it to wear them.
Customer Review: Comfy, good for target practice
I use these for target practice. They are light and comfy, and well priced.

Customer Review: NOT THE SAME PRODUCT!!!
I have owned numerous pairs of Peltor WorkTunes 25's and this is not the same model. I noticed after receiving them that they had minor diferences than those that I have purchased elsewhere. I have talked to Peltor and they informed me that this is not the normal WorkTune 25-the normal model is Peltor #HRX79A GU. I am tired of large stores having manufacturers make cheap knock offs to make more profit!!
Customer Review: Excellent product
I have owned the peltor work tunes for a couple of years now and they work excellent. FM radio comes in really well and holds stations with no problem. AM is clear for the most part but the stations do tend to fade in and out with a lot of movement. Especially when I am mowing my yard. The headset is very comfortable and I have worn them for up to 3 hours at a time without any discomfort. I highly recommend them for the price.

Peltor MT15H7B SV Tactical Pro Behind the Ear Hearing Protector

The Tactical Pro Hearing Protector provides a unique response amplification and impulse noise suppresion to 82 dB. Ergonomic controls and padded headband. Behind the neck headband feature allows for hats and helmets to be worn.
Customer Review: Non standard mono audio jack
Turning on the electronics requires pressing and holding the on/off button. Do this while wearing the hearing protectors and you'll be punished with an incredibly loud and annoying BEEP. The on BEEP is different than the off BEEP, there is no way to reduce the volume of these BEEPS. The volume controls are on the same side as the on/off button. Fortunately they are slightly different shapes. There is an audio in jack, but it isn't a standard 1/8" mini plug or even a 3/32" sub mini plug. You will need a special adapter to plug into a radio or iPod. The input jack is incapable of providing true stereo listening. There are only two not the required three poles for stereo. The optional (not included) "stereo" cable just mixes the channels to both ears. I found the not included "Stereo Cable for Peltor Electronic Muffs-FL6N (3.5mm plug)" available from other web sellers for twenty five dollars! Headphones are capable of amplifying normal sounds above ambient levels, in quiet environments you'll be able to hear things that normally go unnoticed. The microphones do work in stereo to allow for directional hearing. The manual lists the attenuation dB values as H 31, M 29, L 25. The ISO 4869-1 EN 352-4 grade is A, and unit meets 89/336/EEC. These specs puts these headphones near the top of available headphones. Overkill for mowing the yard, more suitable for indoor shooting ranges. AA batteries are included. Substitute Lithium AA for lighter weight and corrosive leak protection.

Peltor M2RX7A Alert AM/FM Radio Headset

This all-purpose Peltor Alert AM/FM radio headset is ideal for work, shooting events, races, or professional landscaping. It combines an AM and FM radio with electronic listening capability so that you can listen to your favorite station without being isolated from your environment. The Peltor Alert also has an audio jack for both radio and scanner connections, as well as a noise reduction level of 24dBA. This attractive radio headset comes in a matte red finish and requires two AA batteries (not included).
Customer Review: Best thing since sliced bread!
I bought a pair of these to use while mowing the grass. The noise reduction quality is fantastic, super quiet. The FM radio reception works great, no issue. The AM radio reception is positional but acceptable. Now the neighbors won't have to listen to me singing at the top of my lungs while I am on the tractor! I would buy this item again and I highly recomend them.
Customer Review: Great while it lasted
The sound and reception was great for about 5 mins. Then a limb knocked it off my head and under the bushhog it went, so I can't afford another 100.00 headphone so I'll do some thing else. BUT it WAS Nice!
